Momentum Manufacturing Group (MMG), one of North America’s top ten largest metal manufacturers, announced it acquired Specialty Products Company (SPC) in Whitefield, ME. The move adds 25 skilled team members, a large manufacturing facility, and land for future expansion.

“The acquisition strengthens our existing precision machining and automation capabilities and expands our capacity for the needs of the semiconductor, medical, and defense industries,” said Jim Moroney, CEO of Momentum Manufacturing Group. “We’re excited to welcome the seasoned staff from SPC to our team.”

“Becoming part of Momentum Manufacturing Group will be great for our people and customers,” said Mike Cuthberston, President of SPC. “We’re excited to offer our customers more services and be a stronger supply chain partner to the industries we support.”

Over the last five years, MMG has made significant investments to expand and strengthen its capabilities, including adding aluminum extrusion manufacturing, custom cabling, and greater use of automation and robotic technologies. Most recently, the company extended its expansive metal machining and supply chain services to the semiconductor market with the acquisition of Little Enterprises in Ipswich, MA, and Evans Industries in Topsfield, MA.

SPC, which has been serving the machining needs of the Semiconductor, Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and Oil & Gas industries since 2000, will complement MMG’s focus on these industries. SPC is ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 Rev D certified for precision machining of parts and components and has invested in robotic technology to support its operations.
